An antique German tea strainer.
Silver plated with gilded centre.
Marked as 'Germany' on the back. Not a vintage reproduction.
Very ornate with acanthus leaves and a little domestic scene on the handle.
It is very sturdy/well made with a hole at the tip of the handle to hang it.
Dimesion: 10 x 6.5 cm
Quite heavy: 63 grams.
Condition:
- On the back: there is a loss of silver plate on the back of the handle, which starts to show the inner brass alloy. Some sign of oxidantion on the back of the gilded colander and a shallow indent.
- On the front there is sign of exidation of the gilded colander. The silver plate is good and the decoration very visible and solid.
