This ticket to a horticultural society dance on the Wirral seems ordinary enough. Yet it marks a key stage in the development of Britain's greatest music phenomenon of the 1960s. It is a sign of the emergence of a youth culture which would shape the nation forever. The band playing that night was the Beatles. And the concert was Ringo Starr's appearance as the Group's drummer.
