For sale I have a sterling silver pin cushion.

This is an unusual pin cushion, hallmarked underneath Birmingham, 1946 and made by J B Chatterley & Sons Ltd.

It is hexagonal in shape, plain with a band to the top and bottom. There is an engraving of a bridled horse's head on one of the panels, perfect for an equestrian enthusiast.

The silver is in very good condition with no splits, pin pricks or excessive polishing and is free of dents. The hallmark is underneath and clear to read.

The cushion has been covered in mink 100% silk velvet and black leather to the base. It is filled with a mix of crushed walnut shell to prevent the pins rusting, and 160 grade emery sand to sharpen the pins as they enter and leave it.

Dimensions are  5cm diameter at its widest x 4.35cm tall.
