Vintage Austrian Forbidden Fruit Rhinestone Lucite Strawberry Brooch 1950s

This vintage Austrian forbidden fruit brooch features brilliant red Austrian pave rhinestones in a red Lucite base, topped with gold tone and green enamel leaves. This brooch is a book piece, as shown in Inside the Jewelry Box, A Collector’s Guide to Costume Jewelry, Vol. 3, by Ann Mitchell Pitman on page 8. Forbidden fruit jewelry was made in Austria in the 1950s, and typically has a translucent Lucite body studded with sparkling Austrian rhinestones.
