Up on the auction block is a very good pair of Vintage Edwardian Period Black Leather Lace Up Boots in about the size US 8C. The numbers inside the shafts read as follows: 766 880316 and beneath these is 605. The leather is very well worn and broken in. There are blemishes, scrapes, and scratches around the outside heel areas. The leather quality is thick, very soft and supple with some small cracking in places around the shafts. All the external seam work is in great shape.
The inside cotton twill lining is in fantastic shape, but very stained with age and use. There are no rips or tears and the internal seam work is intact and in good shape. The leather insoles are in great shape and are imprinted in the toe areas. Both insoles have full felt/wool heel pads. The leather banding across the high tops is in good shape as \ the leather banding along the eyelets. There are 18 pairs of external eyelets to lace up. The leather tongues are in very fine shape with full felt/wool backing on them.
The bottom leather soles are very thick and sturdy showing moderate wear. The wooden Cuban heels are hard and sturdy with all of the original composite/leather heel caps on them. These are very wearable for today for any venue. These may have been factory work boots.
