Antique early 1900’s Black Forest nutcracker

This beautiful piece of folk art was traditionally hand carved out of hard wood in the Black Forest area of Germany or Switserland. It’s a real piece of local craftsmanship and was shaped like a bearded gnome that can break open walnuts by closing his mouth. The nutcracker shows beautiful details like his beard, facial features & his hat!

This unique piece would be the perfect addition to any Black Forest collection or cabinet of curiosities!

After more than a century this piece still remains in good condition!

Over the years it acquired a nice patina which only adds more charm to it!
