CEM48029 1/48 TOW M65 Launcher and Missile Set
Listed here is a scale replica of the TOW missile system carried by aviation assets in many militaries of the US, UK, Japan and many other users. What makes this set special from many other sets created and offered online is its modularity much like the real launcher/missile system. This set can be constructed in many configuration, two shot, stacked four shot and can be built up with an assymetrical loadout so you can match it however you wish to match any picture or reference you like. Often times helicopter would only carry one or two training rounds or live munitions to cut expenditure costs. This can be reflected the same on your subject. This system has been carried by many of the later TOW equipped Cobras up to the AH-1W and British army Lynx helicopters for example. Perfect replacement for the ICM/Special Hobby TOW launchers which are out of scale and undernourished. In 35th scale you have the MRC Academy AH-1W

This set is designed to replace TOW missile launchers on 1/48 scale Cobra kits (Monogram, ICM, Fujimi) for those later models that used them. Kits will have to be modified somehow to mount these. The mounts on these are designed to mimmick the actual geometry of the real geometry while offering pegs that mating holes can be drilled into the kit components to be mounted preserving realism.


Recommended for professional modelers.
This kit requires precision handling. I recommend a sharp, thin shaving razor blade or #11 Xacto blade to remove support material. Care must be taken not to remove detail under center section of assemly. There is detail there that should not be removed. Holes exist on bottom designed into that part to allow stacking together.
Care with scalpel blade and dust mask is required.
Light touch up with putty that can wipe away with matched solvent that will not chemically attack kit plastic and resin recommended.
