This listing is for a 1920s era scrapbook detailing the beginning of the Bellevue Athletic  Club out of Ducktown in Atlantic City.

The club was founded in 1920s by 9 year old Oliver Crawford and his small group of neighborhood who lived in the Ducktown area of Atlantic City, NJ.  The other boys were Walter Clark, James Hewitt, William Campbell, Brothers, Joseph and Elmer Strang, Walter Scwartz and Edward Dollard. They all ponied up their five cent dues and the Bellevue Boys Club was born.  They met at Oliver's father's house so they made him an honorary member of the sports club.

The boys collected news clippings, photographs, paraphernalia and ephemera related to the history of the club from it's beginning in 1920 through the 1950s.  They even wrote a history of the club and it's 1920s beginnings. They saved tickets, stubs, line up sheets and stats cards and stuffed it all into this old scrap book.  They drew pictures on the cover page and typed up an official history with a rendering of their dream clubhouse on the back.

They also excelled at sports and the team grew so successful that by the 1970s, it's roster was a Who's Who in the resort area.

The scrapbooks measures 13 1/2" X 1 1/2" and it is about 1/3rd full of memories.  It's condition is fair. The covers of the scrapbook are very frayed and the pages are fragile---chipping and torn.
