This lovely little box was handcrafted by Incolay Studios Inc of California in the 1970s. It comes complete with the original padded gold velvet lining on the inside bottom and the original label (no longer attached) and brochure. It was made from a mold cast from a 19th century antique sourced by the company owners, E.M. Bright and his wife, Shari.

Incolay is an aggregate that was developed in the 1960s by E.M. Bright. It is made of a combination of natural minerals (Onyx, Malachite, Carnelian, and Jade are some used) that are crushed and ground. It was originally used in jewelry but the Brights expanded to producing Jewelry boxes in the 1970s.
