Red head tapajos geophagus are one of the most beautiful geophagus in the aquarium hobby. Getting their name from their vibrant red heads, they're a very colorful fish and are perfect in community aquariums. Geophagus Tapajos has a max size of 8 inches, but normally do not exceed 6 inches in home aquariums. These fish are best kept in groups of 6 or more, but can be kept individually or in breeding pairs.

You will receive a juvenile geophagus approximately 1.75" to 2.25" in length.

Shipping:
We only ship Monday's and Tuesday's for priority mail shipping, and Monday's, Tuesday's, and Wednesday's for UPS two-day or overnight shipping. We do this to give your fish the best chance to not be delayed and arrive alive and healthy. In the case of holidays or extreme weather, we may delay shipping until the following week to make sure the fish arrive safe.

Orders of multiple quantities or of multiple products will be combined in shipping. If you pay for shipping more than once, send us a message and we'll refund the extra shipping.

We guarantee that our fish arrive alive and healthy as long as the carrier delivers them on time. We pack our fish with heating or cooling packs when needed to give them the best arrival chance. In the case that something unfortunate does happen, please send two clear photos of the dead fish inside the bag within 2 hours of first delivery attempt. If the bag has been opened, the guarantee is voided.

Acclimation Process:
To acclimate your new fish, start by floating the unopened bag inside of their new tank for 30 minutes. Next, open the bag and pour the water and fish into a net over a bucket, then add the fish to their new aquarium. Do not add the water from the bag into the new tank.
