In 1997, at the age of twenty-four, Laura Poole quit her job to be a full-time freelance copyeditor, founding Archer Editorial Services, Inc. Over years with ups and downs, she managed to keep work coming in; get married, buy a home, and have a baby; and even keep up with her book club, gourmet club, and quilting hobby. She trained to be a professional life coach (earning certification and accreditation), which strongly influenced her perception of a well-balanced life. She enjoys presenting on topics related to the freelance life. She lives in North Carolina with her family.
