Purchased as a non running project in 2016 and stored since I have finally re-commissioned the bike this year. The work carried out is essentially a really thorough overhaul as follows: Frt & rear whl bearings removed, fronts replaced, rears perfect and re-fitted, both correctly shimmed professionally with OE parts. Wheels Gold powder coated (originally silver) then received several coats of lacquer. New front mudflap, new caliper seal kit, one new caliper piston, new brake pads. New BMW correct style black long mirrors. All oils new that includes forks, engine, gearbox, drive shaft and diff. New front Metzeler Roadtec 90/90/19 tyre & 110/90/18 rear tyre plus new inner tubes and valves. Front wheel balanced. Correct series 40mm Bing carbs professionally refurbished, stripped and cleaned with new seals, jets etc etc, plated parts re-zinced. Carbs guage balanced. New Venhil smooth throttle and choke cables. New oil and air filter and spark plugs. Brake fluid replaced. Oil cooler stat housing fitted. Valve clearances checked and set, broken needle roller cages replaced. All but the LHS inlet rocker spindle has had the top needle roller shim upgrade. Stainless steel pushrod tubes, new pushrod grommets (they get hard and split), new head gaskets, barrel bottom seals, and long stud 'O'rings (2 per side) replaced. New stainless head nuts and washers. New Exide 30 Amp AGM battery with new top cover for battery tray. New toolbox. New gearshift 'rose jointed'  linkage fitted. Rare kick start option, kick start lever fitted.Original 38mm headers polished. Koni adjustable shocks. All new fuel lines with 'in line' fuel filters. New phosphor bronze side stand bush made to suit to remove play, side stand retaining clip fitted & new return spring. Painting: rocker covers stripped and re-painted in satin black trimmite, front cover in aluminium finish for ease of cleaning. Paintwork I believe to be original and overall quite presentable given its age, that said its not perfect, it has chips here and there, there's a pic of the noticeable one on the fairing which could be touched in.The saddle has been dis-assembled, base blasted to bare metal, minor cracks to metal base repaired and then powder coated as has the rear subframe. Professional trimmer has reconstructed the seat using original foam cushion and original cover, new bump stop rubbers. All parts sourced from M/bins or B/Works. The bike rides and handles extremely well, it's comfortable, shifts gear sweetly, pulls well, and eats miles economically. It should do 250 miles on a full tank. Having covered 500 miles back on the road it has had another oil change using Silkolene Comp 4 XP 20/50. Stamp on engine is 917/81 and V5 shows registered on 21/04/1981. V5 in my name. 'Taxation Class' is showing as 'Historic' being over 40 plus years old, so MoT exempt and free to tax, taxed for 12 months. Matching engine and frame Nos. Luggage frames not included. I believe this bike to be a very late R100s which I believe benefits from the 70 bhp motor, revised timing, and lightened flywheel. Many hours of work and much spent.
