On “Resonance”, Boris Blank's head-cinema sound spaces unfold into expansive sound galaxies, with which the Swiss artist offers a fascinating view of infinity from his studio on the famous Zürichberg. The twelve tracks on the new solo album originally emerged from a commission for the FORTYSEVEN thermal bath near Zurich, designed by the Swiss star architect Mario Botta. Stefan Bock and Stefan Zaradic from the Munich company IAN Records worked with Boris Blank to create an elaborately staged 3D sound landscape using the “SpatialSound Wave” system developed by the internationally renowned Fraunhofer Institute.

A completely new challenge for the notorious noise researcher, who enters previously undiscovered ambient worlds on his new album. “I have always had a great affinity for wide spaces such as factory halls, underground car parks or even the mountains. And about the acoustic resonance that these rooms create,” says Boris Blank about the inspiration for “Resonance.” “Every room has its own vibrations. It excites me to enter these spheres and make them tangible with the help of music. The bigger, the more interesting. My goal this time was to make the rooms as big and spacious as possible.”
