Here’s my very rare 1st series 1950 dated French Velosolex 45cc front engined moped

Bodywork is as found & UNCLEANED with muck, oil & surface rust to the paint BUT ZERO ROT! Would make a lovely very original oilly rag patina bike or a really good base for full restoration.

It has its original rear toolbox & very rare (& expensive to buy) accessory aluminium centre stand & ornate accessory aluminium chainguard. This solex appears to be all complete & original!

I haven’t tried to get it running but the engine turns over with no nasty noises so I’d imagine it won’t take much to get it running.

the previous owner had the wheels Re-spoked & put new continental tyres on it but I have no idea if & what engine work he may have done.

It isn’t U.K. registered with a V5 but it does come with an EACC dating certificate, it has clear frame & engine numbers & as it’s under 48cc it doesn’t need a Nova certificate so it’s very straight forward to get registered, just fill in a form to DVLA & include a £55 cheque and the dating certificate & you will be issued a V5!

Please note this is a project, you won’t be riding it home, it will no doubt need work to get running and most probably the usual cables etc but it is a great solid original example!!

The only minor issues I can see is the saddle cover is split & the front brake cable is uncoupled
