These are vintage tannoy speakers using the 12” version of their legendary dual concentric design. This point source (along with a lot of electronics) for listenning creates  an incredibly cohesive stereo listenning experience. Yes there are many other ways to design speakers, but Tannoys are also the most unfatigueing speakers around. You can listen to them all day without getting worn out. Especally with valve amplifiers where there is a special synergy.

This model is 92 dB efficent. I have used them with a 10 watt Single Ended amp and they sound fantastic. This model is from the early 70's. Along with the earlier LSU models they have been widely used in recording studios around the world. Most of the great British albums from the 70's were recorded in studios where Tannoys were used in the playback, and this has helped set very high audio standards.

There is much discussion about which is better. Conventional wisdom is that the LSUs are better, hence their prices are much higher. However many would dispute this. In any case we are talking about very minor differences, Some of this discussion comes from people who have had lsu speakers for years and not really listenned to hpds, then when they have extended listening they find this model sounds brilliant.

Vintage Tannoys are also a great investment. They have more than doubled in price over the last 25 years - they don’t go down in price . So enjoy the sound then enjoy your profits!

These are big and heavy. They will need to be professionally moved and packed. Personal collection is possible.

I expect that freight and packaging cost $350

An alternative is to use a Furniture Removalist .

Another alternative would be to drive to Canberra and pick them up, so instead of getting it shipped put the money to a road trip or weekend away in Canberra
