Works!  The cord has been rewired prior to me obtaining.  It is plug-in only. There is no switch for on and off.  Please view the video; when the music box is on, it makes a grinding noise every once in a while. Still works. Noise does not occur when the music box is off.  Lights change colors beautifully.

Minor scratches in the acrylic, no cracks or chips.
