In 1744 Emanuel Swedenborg underwent a spiritual awakening and started to record his experiences and visions. Arcana Cœlestia was his first theological publication. It was published in London, partly to avoid Swedish anti-heresy laws .

This set is published in about the 1860's :

It is graded as very good condition commensurate with age. If the set was ten years old it would be graded as good to good plus condition, however this set is over 160 years old !

Bindings and spine are generally still tight/ firm. A couple of sections are a little loose and hanging by threads but 95 % of hinges/ internal bindings are in excellent condition commensurate with age. A little foxing, mainly to titlepages and page edges.  Name and date in cursive in front of book,  see photo. Some of spines have rubbing to their edges and some tops and tails have chips and closed tears (see photos) and a small amount of rubbing to  boards in general. Debossed design on cover. Tipped in bookplate in Volume 2 stating "Presented by the Swedenborg Society,  British and Foreign,  instituted in London,  1810".
