หลวงปู่นนท์ วราโภ วัดเหนือวน ต.คุ้งน้ำวน อ.เมือง จ.ราชบุรี นับเป็นพระเกจิอาจารย์ชื่อดังที่มีอายุมากอีกรูปหนึ่ง ท่านเป็นพระที่มากด้วยเมตตา จึงทำให้ลูกศิษย์ลูกหาเลื่อมใสและศรัทธาท่านมาก วัตถุมงคลของท่านได้รับความนิยมเป็นอย่างมาก แต่ละรุ่นมีจำนวนการจัดสร้างไม่มากนัก 

หลวงปู่นนท์ วราโภ วัดเหนือวน ราชบุรี : อริยะโลกที่ 6

อริยะโลกที่ 6 – “พระครูวราโภคพินิต หรือ หลวงปู่นนท์ วราโภ” พระเกจิอาจารย์ชื่อดังแห่ง วัดเหนือวน ต.คุ้งน้ำวน จ.ราชบุรี เป็นประทีปธรรมของชาวบ้าน เป็นพระสุปฏิปันโนปฏิบัติดี เชี่ยวชาญการเจริญสมาธิ วิปัสสนากัมมัฏฐาน

พระเกจิอาจารย์ร่วมสมัยที่อยู่ในยุคเดียวกัน ยังยอมรับว่าท่านมีปฏิปทาเป็นเลิศงดงามด้วยศีลาจารวัตร เป็นที่ยกย่องสรรเสริญเป็นแบบอย่างของพระสงฆ์ในพระพุทธศาสนาที่เพียบพร้อมสมบูรณ์ด้วยไตรสิกขา คือ ศีล สมาธิ และปัญญา

เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 22 มี.ค.2453 ณ บ้าน เตาอิฐ หมู่ที่ 1 ต.เตาอิฐ (ปัจจุบัน คือ ต.วังเย็น) อ.บางแพ จ.ราชบุรี ได้รับ การศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานจากหลวงพ่อเงิน เจ้าอาวาสวัดหนองม่วง

นอกจากศึกษาเล่าเรียนเขียนอ่านอักขระตามสมัยนิยมแล้ว ยังได้รับการถ่ายทอดวิชาอาคมจากหลวงพ่อเงินอีกด้วย เพราะหลวงพ่อเงินเป็นพระเกจิอาจารย์อาคมขลังมีชื่อเสียงโด่งดังในยุคนั้น

วัดหนองม่วงอยู่ในเขต อ.บางแพ จ.ราชบุรี เคยมีเจ้าอาวาสเป็นพระเกจิอาจารย์เรืองนามระดับแนวหน้าของเมืองไทยคือ พระครูอนุรักษ์วรคุณ (หลวงพ่อสง่า) ภายหลังท่านย้ายไปจำพรรษาอยู่ที่วัดบ้านหม้อ อ.โพธาราม และไปละสังขารที่วัดดังกล่าว

หลวงพ่อสง่า วัดหนองม่วงเป็นสหธรรมิกรุ่นน้องหลวงพ่อนนท์ วัดเหนือวน มีความสนิทสนมกันเป็นอย่างดี

หลวงปู่นนท์ในวัยเด็กได้มาเรียนหนังสือต่อที่วัดสัตตนารถปริวัตร อยู่ในตัวจังหวัดราชบุรี โดยพระครูใบฎีกา (วอน) วัดโสมนัสวิหาร กทม. เป็นผู้นำมาฝาก ในสมัยนั้นพระพุทธวิริยากร (จิตร) เป็นเจ้าอาวาส ต่อมาพระครูใบฎีกา (วอน) ย้ายมาจำพรรษาที่วัดเหนือวน

จึงติดตามมาอยู่วัดเหนือวนด้วย และได้บรรพชาเมื่อ พ.ศ.2470 โดยพระครูอุดมธีรคุณ (เงิน) วัดสัตนารถฯ เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ ศึกษาเล่าเรียนพระปริยัติธรรมที่วัดสนามพราหมณ์ จ.เพชรบุรี สอบได้นักธรรมชั้นตรี

นับว่าเป็นโชควาสนา ขณะที่อยู่วัด เหนือวน หลวงปู่บุดดา ถาวโร วัดกลางชูศรีเจริญสุข จ.สิงห์บุรี พร้อมด้วยพระสหธรรมิกได้ธุดงค์ผ่านมา และจำพรรษาอยู่ที่วัดเหนือวนจึงได้มีโอกาสฝึกฝนการเจริญกัมมัฏฐานตามแบบฉบับของหลวงปู่บุดดา

เมื่ออายุครบ 20 ปี พ.ศ.2474 จึงอุปสมบท โดยพระครูอุดมธีรคุณ (เงิน) วัดสัตตนารถปริวัตร เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ (ภายหลังได้รับพระราชทานสมณศักดิ์เป็นพระราชาคณะที่พระธรรมเสนานี (เงิน) พระครูเมธีธรรมานุยุติ (เม้ย) วัดลาดเมธังกรเป็นพระกรรมวาจาจารย์ และพระอธิการเฉื่อย วัดเหนือวน เป็นพระอนุสาวนาจารย์ ได้รับฉายาว่า “วราโภภิกขุ”

พ.ศ.2500 ได้รับการแต่งตั้งเป็น เจ้าอาวาสวัดเหนือวน แทนหลวงพ่อเฉื่อยที่มรณภาพด้วยโรคชรา ขณะนั้นหลวงปู่นนท์ อายุ 47 ปี ใช้ความรู้ความสามารถที่มีสร้างศรัทธาหลอมรวมใจของชาวบ้านให้มาช่วยกันพัฒนาวัดเหนือวน กระทั่งมีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองตามลำดับ วัดเหนือวนในปัจจุบันสะอาด สงบ ร่มเย็น มีความเป็นระเบียบเรียบร้อยเป็นที่เจริญศรัทธายิ่งนัก

ช่วงบั้นปลายชีวิต ท่านถูกโรครุมเร้า จนต้องเข้า-ออก โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ กรุงเทพฯ อยู่ประมาณ 3 เดือน โดยอยู่ในความอุปถัมภ์ของสมเด็จพระญาณสังวร สมเด็จพระสังฆราชฯ

ละสังขารอย่างสงบด้วยโรคชรา เวลาประมาณ 16.00 น. วันพุธที่ 10 ม.ค.2550

สิริอายุ 96 ปี 9 เดือน 19 วัน พรรษา 76

ท่ามกลางความโศกเศร้าของศิษยานุศิษย์และพุทธศาสนิกชนทั่วไปเป็นยิ่งนัก ถึงแม้หลวงปู่นนท์จากไป แต่คณะศิษย์ที่เคารพนับถือยังคงรำลึกถึงท่านอยู่ไม่เสื่อมคลาย

Luang Pu Non in childhood came to study at Wat Sattanat Pariwat. in Ratchaburi by Phra Kru Bai Dika (Won) at Somanat Viharn Temple, Bangkok as a leader. At that time, Phra Buddha Wiriyakon (Chit) was the abbot. Later, Phrakhru Bai Dika (Won) moved to live in the Buddhist Lent at Wat Nua Wan.
