Vintage 1961 Heddon BGL Bluegill Tiny "Punkinseed" Fishing Lure #9630-380 with Original Packaging. This is New, Open Box

The BGL Punkinseed Lure is unused with some storage/age wear but is in Beautiful condition! Notice placement of front screw eye hook, under mouth. Also the White eye is a 1961-70's issue. (A gold eye would have been a 1955-60's issue lure)

-The box is in rough condition but still holds form nicely. It has decent graphics and color as well.

The Heddon Tiny Punkinseed Lure was given a model series 380. James Heddon expounded upon a fisherman favorite line with this little vintage zig zagging plastic fishing lure. The lure measures 1- 5/8″ in length and tips the scales at 3/8 of an ounce.

Originally priced at $1.35 this classic was first introduced into the lure line up in 1954 and would last until roughly 1977-78 season. The lure would be reissued for the Japanese market later into the 1980’s.  The Tiny Punkinseed with Bell Rig Hardware on the front and rear hangers was first, it would then be followed by the Front Screw Eye Hook Hanger and Rear Bell Hardware.

"Whenever hungry game fish eat small panfish such as small shad, crappies, and bluegill minnows, there you’ll find the “Tiny Punkinseed” very deadly for spinning or trolling. Because of its flat design, its extremely stable, can be cast quite easily and accurately as well as trolled at most any speed. Wiggle with a frantic flirt that looks exactly like one of the small food fishes darting for cover. You will catch largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleyes, trout, muskies, and large panfish."
