French Canadian / Quebec MAD Magazine First Premiere #1 Issue 1991 RARE

 

FRENCH QUEBEC MAD Magazine #1, May 1991, Quebec Edition. 

 

This is the premiere issue from the short-lived, 12 issue French-Canadian version of MAD Magazine. 

This is an original cover that was not published in the U.S. MAD edition. The cover features Alfred E. Neuman as a hockey player with the Quebec Nordiques facing off with Montreal Canadien's Guy Carbonneau. 

 

Note that Alfred has a golf club in his hands and he's wearing golf shoes! This issue is in good condition. 

 

The MAD fold-in, and the back cover has a lightly crease. small tear on bottom back cover

 

This issue is 50 pages long with no writing and no loose or missing pages. The spine is solid with no splitting and this issue lays flat. 

 

Translated entirely in the French language, there are the usual MAD features included in this issue: Two MAD movie parodies: "Beauty and the Beast" and "Total Recall", Al Jaffee's Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions, Dave Berg's Lighter Side of..., plus Jack Davis, Mort Drucker, Sergio Aragones, Don Martin, Don 'Duck' Edwing, Harry North and Bob Jones, as well as some original French-Canadian material. 

 

This hard-to-find International MAD would make a nice addition for any foreign MAD Magazine or Alfred E. Neuman collection!
