Description

Kiyomizu Ware's Nakamura Ryoji's Matcha Tea Bowl, Persimmon Heta.
Kaki (persimmon) wakame tea bowls were highly prized by tea masters. This matcha bowl, modeled after the graceful shape of the tea bowl, acquires more flavor with each use. The kintsugi (metal joints) are not the actual joints of broken pieces, but a pattern (design).
The color is austere and the shape is sturdy. The more you use it, the more you will enjoy this Korean style matcha bowl. Unevenly glazed so that the unevenness of the Irabo glaze becomes the scenery.
The glaze is unevenly glazed so that the unevenness of the Irabo glaze becomes the scenery. The three white marks on the top (the back side of the bowl when turned over) are called "eye marks". The appearance is reminiscent of the king of tea bowls, the well bowl. This bowl can be used all year round because there is no painting on it.
