Randy Meisner - Randy Meisner, Asylum Records 6E-140 GATEFOLD

MEISNER joined the country-rock band POCO for a single album, before joining RICK NELSON AND HIS STONE CANYON BAND. Then MEISNER met DON HENLEY and GLENN FREY as backup musicians for LINDA RONSTADT; and THE EAGLES were born. After his departure from THE EAGLES, MEISNER released his debut 1978 eponymously titled album which featured twelve tracks ranging from rock driven tracks like “Bad Man” and “Every Other Day” to ballads like “Daughter Of The Sky”, however it should be of no surprise that the album is mostly mellowed out country rock songs much like what The Eagles were all about. MEISNER’s greatest contribution to The Eagles was the hit song “Take It To The Limit” which he wrote and in many ways this album echoes that exact style of songwriting and even includes features a stripped down cover of that very song.
