DESCRIPTION A stunning fine bone china oblong platter from Minton in the Riverton pattern, K227. Riverton features contrasting bands of white and cream with Sevres style raised gilt swags and finely etched gilt bands.
The delicate floral motifs are painted using a hand-raised paste gilding, whilst the border pattern is created using a textured lithograph which is hand-painted with 22-carat gold by skilled artists.
It was produced by Minton from 1926 until they were acquired by Wedgwood who then continued to make it under their name. However, these pieces are still extremely hard to find with just a few pieces available at Harrods.com. where a dinner plate alone currently retails for £450.00.
