This is because of their hair, not having sweat glands like humans (relying solely on panting) and do not understand they would be cooler if they laid and settled down. The Ancol pet cooling mat is designed to cool your pet down during hot weather and can reduce a hot dog's temperature by up to 7°C.

The cooling mat is manufactured using a central phase change material (PCM) core which instantly draws heat away from your dog and turns from a solid into a liquid. The cooling mat lasts for several hours without relying on being chilled in the fridge or recharged.

The cooling mat can be used on the floor, in a bed or inside of a crate.
