Of course this isn’t a Fender jazz ! The body and hardware is all from a Harley Benton. The neck is a Chinese fretless job which I’m told was professionally installed - there’s a Fender waterslide decal on the headstock and it's varnished over. The Fender Hi Mass bridge is something I put on but I have the original bridge if you want it. The factory side dots are filled in and new dots installed where the frets actually would be which is how I prefer a fretless. I don’t have the original fretted neck.

It looks great ( surf green ?) and it plays and sounds pretty well. Issues - The truss road nut is stripped. It needs a screw extractor to get it out and then a new one putting on but the truss rod itself must be OK because the neck is true and really good to play having only minor relief. I’d describe the action as medium – what can I say , it’s the same action as on my other real Fender basses which suits me fine. There’s some minor damage to the body paint at the bottom of the neck pocket. It’s in the photos.

In a nut shell – if you want a cheap , good looking ‘players’ fretless jazz bass that has the magic name on top then buy it. If you don’t… don’t ! But have a look at my other musical items anyway !

Collection only on this. Shall I say that again ? Collection only. I’m about 4 miles easy drive from A1 J34 ( Blyth services in north Nottinghamshire). Kettle’s on , biscuit tin’s full. I could deliver for 15p a mile within a reasonable distance but don’t ask me to drive into big cities because heavy traffic gives me the willies.
