WHAT'S THE STORY?
Smoking restrictions first started in public places, government buildings and airplanes in the 1970's. These restrictions limited, but did not ban, smoking. In the 1980's, as more health studies were released, there was an increase in focus on nonsmokers' rights organizations. By 1986, 41 states and D.C. had statutes restricting smoking to some extent.
About Lucite - Lucite is a high-quality trademarked form of acrylic resin developed by DuPont in 1937. Lucite is not just acrylic, though the two words are often used interchangeably. Lucite is an acrylic plastic resin, specifically the compound developed by DuPont. Its durability, crystal clear transparency, strength and flexibility makes Lucite the top choice for many windows and unique high-fashion furniture.
