Rare original antique print from an 1870s illustrated journal. It depicts the American Rifle Team and the Irish Rifle Team (all named) at the International Rifle Match in 1874.

Creedmoor is synonymous with the first-ever international rifle match in 1874 at the Creedmoor Range at Long Island, NY, that pitted the Irish Muzzle Loaders (Rigby's) against the American Breech Loaders (Sharps and Remington Rolling Blocks).

The range was established after the New York Legislature and the newly formed National Rifle Association (NRA) combined in 1872 to acquire 70 acres of farmland from a Mr Creed for long-distance rifle shooting and the holding of shooting competitions. It was in present day Queens Village, QUeens, New York.

The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 15 inches (28 x 38 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 9 x 13 inches, with a caption below it.

The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition.

This print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
