Selling an absolutely gorgeous porcelain macaw statue produced by the Sadek Import Company, bearing the "Andrea by Sadek" name. Stylistically inspired by Guido Cacciapuoti, this macaw statue sits at 15 inches in height, with a base diameter of 7.5 inches. Subtracting the estimated weight of the wooden base, you're looking at roughly 5 pounds worth of delicately worked porcelain. The detailing on this piece is remarkably intricate; each flower, feather, berry and stem a masterpiece. The primary and secondary feathers seen on the back of the statue are absolutely beautiful, as is the attention to detail seen on the tree. The macaw's eyes are highly realistic.

This statue is, as best as I can tell, in perfect or near perfect condition. I have yet to find a single chip or crack on this parrot. With that having been said, I encourage the customer to make their own determination after reviewing the product photos. The round solid wood base has a few small nicks. I'd imagine that this base would be easy to touch up, sand, or replace in its entirety.

Collectors with a keen eye might notice similarities between this Sadek piece and similar macaw pieces designed by Giuseppe Armani. Best as I can tell, both iterations of the design were directly influenced by artist Guido Cacciapuoti's hyper realistic animal sculpture work. With all of that having been said, I'd ask readers to take the conclusions that I've drawn here with a grain of salt! Regardless, this piece is positively beautiful.
