REPRINT OF THE 1894 PAIRPOINT MANUFACTURING COMPANY CATALOG PUBLISHED “IN COOPERATION WITH Old Dartmouth Historical Society – New Bedford Whaling Museum.”  The Glass Press, OH, 1997.

In 1894 The Pairpoint Manufacturing Company and Mr. Washington Glass Company combined to form The Pairpoint Company.  “The combination of New-Bedford glass and metal ware proved to be both a commercial and artistic success.  In this catalog reprint you will see examples of Burmese, Crown Milano, Royal Flemish, Rose Amber, and many decorated wares.  The names applied to its wares were not always consistent, and sometimes the same object might be called more than one line.  The purpose of this reprint is to showcase the superior artistic Victorian designs from the company’s production and hopefully create a greater appreciation for both the glass and metal wares produced.  Examples of these wares are Cockle Shell salt and pepper shakers; decorated crystal, including ruby (cranberry), blue, amber and orange-colored glasses; Rose Amber castor sets; Crown Milano cruets; Burmese caster and bowls; mushroom flower holders; and decorated eggs.  There are many choice examples of Mt. Washington Art Glass in this catalogue.  There is also every variety of silver-plate for Victorian home.  This catalogue is important documentation of the production of glass and silver ware at a time when the Gilded Age was at its peak.  It serves to educate collectors by identifying the outstanding wares produced by these companies.”
