The Swiss manufacturer Silvana (Fabrique d'Horlogerie Silvana SA / V.E.Bahon, Tramelan-Dessus, Switzerland) is well known for its "DH" military watches for Germany. The company still operates today, producing men's and women's watch lines.
The main features of a military watch for the Wehrmacht are a black dial with luminous hands and markers/numbers, a small second, a 36-hour power reserve, and a shockproof device (a rare feature for the 1940s). This watch bears all these signs. The remains of the radioactive radium phosphor were removed and a new composition was applied, which glows well in the dark.
The body is nickel without coating, the screw cap is threaded. Official German military mark D.H. Diameter without head 50 mm, height along the ring 68 mm. The lid is tight and everything closes perfectly. Minimal signs of age, excellent rare state of preservation.
The dial is original, metal with a black coating and white numbers in an easy to read military font, with the signature "Silvana". Numbers and hands with updated luminous mass without radium, glow well in the dark. The mineral glass is slightly convex. Very good condition, true military appearance.
The movement is Unitas 265S caliber, anchored with 15 jewels, power reserve 33 hours. High-quality processing, boards and bridges in Geneva wave, steel wheels in polishing. Balance with adjusting screws, isochronous hairspring with Breguet curl, Incabloc shockproof device. The accuracy is excellent.
The mechanism has been professionally cleaned and lubricated, the movement is vigorous and clear, the error is less than 30 sec/day.
