This tinplate toy was made in Germany around the 1920’s, by the Lehmann toy company. It is made up of 2 chinamen carrying a tea caddy. The system still works using a gyro and spinning the out gear using your thumb and fore finger, or by winding a piece of string around it and pulling. The toy has some age related wear but still retains the majority of its colours. In need of a good clean. The front figure is missing its right arm, but I saw on the website of The Tin Toy Company that they have an original arm for sale. The lid of the tea caddy is loose as the tabs to hold it on have failed. Still a very rare item for tinplate toy collectors. Please see the photos as they form part of the description.
