Up on the auction block is a fantastic pair of Vintage Edwardian Period Black Leather Lace Up Boots that work out to being about a US 8. The numbers inside the shafts read as follows: 15 362278. The leather is in excellent sturdy shape. Being very soft, supple, and very wearable for any use. These are also nicely broken in, and there are only some nicks around the heel areas and on the toe tip of the left boot. The external seams are holding well and look intact. Very nice overlap leather punch work design in the shoe line.
The inside cotton twill lining is in very good condition except for the staining from all of the leather dust from decomposition in the leather lining (the lining has been tacked at the top). There are no rips or tears in the internal seam work. The leather insoles have some toe imprinting, but are in very good shape and both have full felt/wool heel pads. The leather banding across the high tops is completely decomposed and responsible for all of the leather dust. The leather banding along the eyelets is also in a state of decomposition. There are 18 external eyelets to lace up. The leather tongues are in great overall shape with full cloth backing on them.
The bottom leather soles are still thick even with the moderate wear. The wooden Spanish Flamenco Heels (Cubano), are very sturdy with almost full (though showing some wear) leather heel caps that are showing gaps at the rear.
