Genuine Antique Hand Made Copper Bowl, Jardinière, Vase, Pot with Early, Unusual Hallmarks - Asian .. see detailed photos.

Handsome, Decorative Display Vessel w/a fine, well developed 100% naturally aged rich patina.

Measures approx. 5 1/2" H x 8" W, and a 5" diameter opening.  Vessel remains water tight, sturdy, strong. No past repair nor in need of any.

Classic multi-cultural utilitarian form, exact age & maker remain unidentified .. of genuine hand crafted solid copper, with an untouched, beautifully aged rich patina.  Typically such a vessel was intended for water & may have been used for a plant however not anytime recently as it has been well stored, boxed the past several decades & is new to market.

The hallmarks are seen here are rare;  we find, as yet, an unidentifiable early asian? lettered stamp flanked to left w/an asian symbol. Centered directly above is quite an unusual hallmark .. studying it very closely,  there appears to be a distinguishable head .. a face & what appear to be wings on both sides? An ID of this hallmark would be greatly appreciated.  Additional photos on request can be provided, no problem.

Dirk Van Erp relied on this early utilitarian form & style to craft his much later popularized Arts & Crafts vessels, many including copper.

This piece remains untouched, original, with age related wear & tear created character.   Please view all photos as they are inclusive of description herein.  Happy to answer questions; be sure to ask prior to purchase please.
