Local Beauties 9 "N'kongsamba, RC" color etching by graphic artist Rolf Weijburg.

The image features three local women dressed in colorful attire with wide, shallow, colorful baskets on their heads as they walk down a dirt road with trees and mountains in background in Nkongsamba, Camaroon.

Rolf Weijburg is recognized as one of the best sketching artists of his time. He was born in the Netherlands in 1952.  His work is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. His commission work can be seen in brochures, websites, books, and television. He is the subject of a 2017 documentary The Art of Travel. He has received the Dutch Graphics Prize for his color etchings.

According to the artist, his Local Beauties series was inspired by a postcard he received years earlier from Sri Lanka. The card was divided into four rectangles with ladies in local dress in each rectangle. One stood next to a house, one on a beach, one was standing in a forest and one had just stopped picking tea. It was an old-fashioned postcard with colors that might have been applied by hand. In the middle it read: Local Beauties. For years, this card hung on the wall in the artist's house. Now the card has got lost. But it's title has been preserved.
