I bought this machine a couple of weeks ago after a great deal of searching. It was needed in the production of a new Beatles documentary. It had to be in great condition and able to playback the very first radio interview recorded with the band from Oct '62. (The machine is about that vintage). Playback of this historic tape was made in the exact location it was recorded - the dressing room of Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight.

The heads have been cleaned and playback works perfectly, as does recording, VU meter, light, counter. For rewind though, the belt (which is separate for that function and straight forward to obtain and replace) appears to be slipping and needs help with your finger.
There is also a tiny screw missing from one of the hinges for the tape compartment cover which means it doesn't latch properly.

Apart from that, as I hope you can see from the photos, it is in remarkably blemish and dink-free condition and is a superb example of this model. It comes with a take-up spool, case (rather tatty but very characterful) instructions and other original documents. It's been very carefully looked after for over 50 years by a BBC journalist.

PS - just bought a new old stock Uher so I can use the shipping box to send this - should ensure it'll arrived unscathed... in case collection in London doesn't work for you. Thx
