If you are a Kansas police collector viewing this listing you will likely have never seen this patch, as I had not seen this version previously before this week.  Inman Police department has always been a small department so there is not a lot of their items available in the wild.

Large 5 inch diameter silk screen patch is certainly not the best quality patch you will ever see. In fact this looks rather primitive and the design is sort of plain also.  I believe some of this patch has even been colored in to make it look more visually interesting?  However, this patch is 100% authentic and has a very interesting story for a 37 year old patch.

The story:  My wife picked up 4 (entire supply present at the time) of these this week from the estate sale of Dennis Seyfert/Sharon Seyfert.  Sharon Seyfert maiden name was Sharon Cowan.  Her father was Robert G. Cowan (B.G. Cowan) who was the former chief of police of Inman, Kansas. Chief Cowan passed away in 1989.  There is currently an Inman Kansas badge lot set listed on ebay that was present at the same estate sale that another buyer got before my wife could attend the sale. These items are all authentic and related. It is my opinion that former Chief Cowan had these centennial patches commissioned but I do not have documentation of that theory.  It does seem likely though.

I am keeping one of these for my personal Kansas collection, have given one to my local PD Chief (also a patch collector), and have contacted the current Inman PD Chief to give him patch #3 for his office display.  He stated he had never seen one of these patches before.

The patch shown is #4.  I am listing it for sale to pay for the other patches and give a serious police collector the opportunity to own something rather rare and unusual in the Kansas police patch realm.  If you have additional questions, feel free to message me and I will try to answer your questions. Patch will be shipped with tracking due to the rarity.
