This auction is for a lovely example of Bernard Buffet's " Game Table" multi plate etching lithograph print which may have been printed in the 1970s after his original, done in the 1950s.

This vintage print is not digitally printed (no pixels). It was printed on woven cream color paper in the color etching technique and is plate signed. There are no other marks to help identify the printer or how many were printed. There is, however, evidence of having been printed, possibly without the artists permission. On the backside of this print is what was once a pencil signed Leslie Andrews Vouge poster, printed by the same printing house in the same technique. I have seen an exact copy of the Andrews poster on the internet which has an old COA certificate attached from a now closed Gary David, Ltd. Fine Art Sales dealer in Short Hills, N.J..

That said, this vintage print with its fine detail and strong, vivid colors is in overall very good to near excellent condition with minor age toning.

This very nice open edition lithograph print which might also have been the printers test run, is a one of a kind copy. It is a well crafted copy or test run copy of Buffets rare 1950s original, which appears on the cover of "Bernard Buffet" 1956 hard cover book of his woks published in Paris by Fernand Hazam.

Either way, it is a must have for any admirer of Buffet's work at a great starting price. A really nice, low cost starter piece for any art lover.

Once re-matted and framed for future preservation, it will look great in any décor setting.
