Penzell/Mueller was a company that focused on quality.  They were a direct competitor to Buffet Crampon, which has long been the gold standard for clarinets, and produced professional quality instruments.  This is your chance to own a relic of the roaring '20s.

This is a wooden clarinet made by Penzell-Mueller in New York. The instrument is in decent shape and plays nicely with good tone.  It currently resides in a Selmer/Bundy case.  Due to the age and antique nature of this instrument, I didn't do a high polish job on it, as that can often do more harm than good on an almost 100 year old instrument.  All pads that needed replacement have been replaced.  Key wear is minimal, and there are no areas of wear-through in the plating.

B series with a serial number of 10058, estimated manufacture date of 1927.  Feel free to ask any questions you have before bidding; returns are not accepted.  Reserve is not the buy-it-now.

This is a wooden clarinet made by Penzell Mueller in New York. The instrument is in decent shape and plays nicely with good tone.  I tested it with a Vandoren B44 and B45 with a traditional Vandoren reed of 3 strength.  These mouthpieces are not included, but a CG Conn mouthpiece will be.  It currently resides in a Selmer/Bundy case.  Due to the age and antique nature of this instrument, I didn't do a high polish job on it, as that can often do more harm than good on an almost 100 year old instrument.  The tenon corks remain unchanged as well for the same reason, but they still fit tightly.  All pads that needed replacement have been replaced.  Key wear is minimal, and there are no areas of wear-through in the plating that I noticed.

:::This instrument will require a slow reintroduction to regular playing.  I recommend no longer than 15 minutes per day for the first week, 30 minutes per day the second week, and unlimited after that.  This will give the grenadilla wood time to adjust to the humidity:::
