Quad Series.. Reduced thickness sculpted foam grille inserts for JBL L-100 Century L-100 & L-100a speakers..


These foam inserts are thinner than the original L100 foam grilles, but are thicker than the Radio Shack style foam inserts..


Some advantages of the thinner foam is a lower shipping cost, and still having a great look.. Having cubes almost as tall as the original grilles,with only less foam thickness under the cubes..Lower shipping cost is possible since these inserts can be shipped lightly rolled in a standard sized box avoiding the extra expense of a large flat box..Better sound transfer for when you want a more critical listening experience of your speakers..(Its still recommended to remove grilles when critically listening to your speaker since just the wood frames alone without any foam causes diffraction distortion from the high frequencies bouncing off the grille frame edges)

One pair.. (You will receive two Gray foam inserts)...These are brand new replacement sculpted foam grills that directly fit into the walnut wood grille frames of the vintage JBL-L100 Century speakers..(These will fit all models of the L-100's from the 1970's..Century, L100a and the early inline driver layout models)


(No wood frames, or speakers are included in this sale)..


The inserts are fabricated from high quality open cell reticulated foam..No color has been applied and is left the foams natural color all the way through which is a Charcoal Gray color..


One cube in the bottom left corner of each insert has been lowered slightly to create a mounting location for your JBL badge/logo..(Metal badges are included in the box that you can attach to the inserts if needed)


The foam grilles inserts will need to be glued into your wood frames and the black cloth mesh that was originally stapled into the frames is required to support the foam..


*If you need new mesh i have a listing in my items for sale for some very nice, very close to original looking black mesh available..Just click on my profile then my items for sale and you should easily be able to find it..If you order a pair of my grille inserts and the black mesh at the same time just let me know and i will refund you the shipping on the mesh and just ship it in the box with the inserts..


*Note.. This is a soft flexible foam, it is not stiff or rigid like a board, and also it cannot be stretched tight.. It has to be securely glued into the wood frames and also glued to the black mesh cloth centers in the frames exactly how JBL installed the original foam inserts..The old JBL glue pattern can be seen in the wood frames..Just follow the old glue pattern..Not installing correctly by simply only applying a little bit of glue around the edges is not enough to hold the new inserts flat and will not work..More detailed info on the installation is include in the box..Also these inserts will arrive very lightly rolled in a smaller more standard sized box, don't be alarmed, it will not hurt the foam or paint in anyway..This shipping method saves you up to $17 in shipping costs compared to a large flat box..
