This is a lovely set of 4 porcelain plates, decorated with purple sprigs of flowers, forget-me-nots, scattered across the plates. They were made Charles Field Haviland, in Limoges France. The porcelain is white and fine, with a lovely intricate pattern stamped into the porcelain edges of the plates.

The green GDA backstamp under the glaze was used starting in 1900, and the red decorator stamp was used starting in 1862. GDA stands for Gerard Dufraisseix and Abbot. Charles Haviland was actually taken over by Gerard, Dufraisseix and Morel in 1881 but they kept the original red decorating mark. They became GDA in 1902. This green mark was used from about 1900 to 1953. So these plates are possibly antique, somewhere between 70-120 years old.

They are in excellent vintage to antique shape and I see no chips, cracks, stains or crazing. There are minimal marks on the glaze looking at an angle to the light, but a few scuff or pock marks in the glaze either from stacking them, or from the firing in the kiln.

Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree view for a closer look.

I pack with lots of bubble wrap for safe shipping and ship out quickly, sometimes same day, always by next business day, and sometimes on Saturdays if I can make it to the post office before they close at noon.

Any questions, please ask, and thanks for looking!!
