“Phra Buddha Chinnarat” is an important sacred Buddha image of Siam. It is a Buddha image in the subduing Mara posture. cast in bronze It has a lap width of 5 cubits, 1 creep, 5 inches, and a height of 7 cubits, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand. It is the famous Buddha image in Phitsanulok. It is enshrined at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat or Wat Yai, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province.

Phra Buddha Chinnarat is assumed to have been built in the year 1900, in line with the reign of Phra Maha Thammaracha I (Lithai), the King of Sukhothai. It was built along with two other Buddha images, "Phra Buddha Chinnasi" and "Phra Si Satsada".

It is said that Chepa Khao was a deity who transformed himself to help cast the Buddha image. Phra Buddha Chinnarat has a very beautiful Buddha image. But when the ceremony was finished Cheepakao disappeared and no one saw him. The village where Chepa Khao disappeared is therefore called "Baan Ta Pa Khao disappeared" until now

not only that The remaining bronze from the casting of the 3 Buddha images above can also be cast into another small Buddha image named “Phra Lue”, which still has the remaining gold that can be cast as disciples of the remaining two monks. In addition, the bricks that built the gold furnace and used to cast the Buddha image were brought together to form a three-cubic high Chukchi. At the location where the Buddha image was cast, and 3 Maha Bodhi trees were planted on Chukchi called "Pho Sam Sao" and a small viharn was built between the Bodhi trees. The Lue Buddha image and his disciples were brought to be enshrined in that viharn, called "Venue Luang Pho Lue", which is located in front of Phra Buddha Chinnarat's viharn.

The four Buddha images are Phra Buddha Chinnarat. Phra Buddha Chinnasi, Phra Si Satsada, and Phra Lue that were built at the same time. This has been enshrined in Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat for a long time. Lord Buddha Chinnarat is enshrined at the large viharn on the west side. Phra Buddha Chinnasi is enshrined at the northern viharn The Buddha image is enshrined at the southern temple The rest of the Buddha images are enshrined in Viharn Noi. It is like a sibling Buddha image that has been in the two cities of Phitsanulok for a long time.
