From a large collection of vintage knives I purchased from Jim Dresslar many years ago for my collection of early American primitive knives and Native American weaponry. This knife measures 12" and has a remarkable dark brown patina that only comes for significant age. The blade itself measures 7.25". The bolster of knife is poured pewter, as well as pewter design elements on both sides and top of handle. This old frontier knife would be ideal for a vintage large tacked or beaded Native American knife sheath, and there is a chance this knife was indeed Native American used. Circa 1850.  We will be listing many old manufactured, primitive, and blacksmith made early American knives dating from 1800 to 1900 over the next few weeks, so keep watching.
