Vinyl: VG/VG+ Play Graded. Not quite a VG+ but better than a VG! Has some soft snap, crackle and pop. This is the RARE 1967 MONO Capitol MAL 2835 1ST PRESSING!! Pressed at Capitol's Renowned Scranton, PA Pressing Plant! Remember: The Beatles were always personally involved with the MONO Mixes because MONO was the sound they Heard and Preferred! Then, they would leave the Stereo mixes to others...So, this is the sound they had in Mind for MMT! Very different sounds on the Mono Vs. the Stereo Mix...This album Has ALL the songs from the film as well as 5 others that were contemporaneous singles from that heady year of 1967....Quintessential Middle Years Psychedelia, this is the last full-on psychedelic testimony from The Lads and don't forget how this one ROCKS! Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna, Indeed!!! Enjoy!...Allmusic gives it 5 stars!!!

Gatefold. Includes the SUPER RARE PSYCHEDELIC INNER SLEEVE, which came with some of the FIRST PRESSINGS, as they were leftovers from the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Inner Sleeves, issued earlier in the year, June, 1967!!! Also, Includes the 24 page Booklet. Booklet has a tiny tear on the first page, top left. Also has three tiny pinholes on the top left and top right corner of the pages. This doesn't obscure any text, nor does it detract from the enjoyment of the booklet. The Booklet
follows pretty much the script of the Movie, which, of course, is
Required viewing for everyone. Don't let the contemporary reviews throw
you off (it was panned, almost universally). This is visionary
surrealism at it's British Best! Front, Gatefold and Back of cover
artwork and text are rich, clear and bright.
Seams, corners and spine are solid and clean. No splits. No
writing. No stickers. Spine print is crystal clear.

The U.S. version of the soundtrack for the Beatles' ill-fated British television special embellished the six songs that were found on the British Magical Mystery Tour double EP with five other cuts from their 1967 singles. The psychedelic sound is very much in the vein of Sgt. Pepper's, and even spacier in parts (especially the sound collages of "I Am the Walrus"). Unlike Sgt. Pepper's, there's no vague overall conceptual/thematic unity to the material, which has made Magical Mystery Tour suffer slightly in comparison. Still, the music is mostly great, and "Penny Lane," "Strawberry Fields Forever," "All You Need Is Love," and "Hello Goodbye" were all huge, glorious, and innovative singles. The ballad "The Fool on the Hill," though only a part of the Magical Mystery Tour soundtrack, is also one of the most popular Beatles tunes from the era.
