These genuine Victorian dental tooth brushes are all hand-made from cattle bone - and many are impressed / marked with the chemist / businesses which sold them. They date to the late 1890s and cover a wide range of shapes. The bristles have largely rotted from burial - still visible in places - and were probably made from badger hair.

The handle of the brush is marked with the retailer such as Barker of Kensingston (London) / patterned / or has details of the patent (relating to the shape / way the bristles have been hand fixed to the brush). They would look superb in a frame - perhaps in a dental practice...the example with an almost hour-glass stem is particularly interesting.
