These prickly pear pretty much grow anywhere in the eastern United States but would probably survive anywhere in the majority of the United States outside.  The cactus can definitely survive Sub-Zero temperature, however extreme amounts of rain for many days could kill it.


As long as you have drainage you can pretty much put these anywhere outside that doesn't contain a heavy clay soil.
