A very rare and intriguing OTT snare drum, made in Bologna Italy. Probably from the late 1960s or early 70s judging by the original psychedelic wrap, though it has a lug style that was used from at least as early as the 1950s. Probably a tiny brand made out of a workshop, it's difficult to find almost any info on OTT. Luca Luciano's reference book on Italian drums does not make mention of the brand at all. It may be a one-of-a-kind drum.

7 by 14 inches, standard diameter fits modern heads. Chrome hardware with a parallel strainer mechanism and its original proprietary set of spring wires, 6 lugs top and bottom, very cool original rims with ornate die cast wire gates. All the die casting of the parts is very high quality and some of the inner mechanism appears to be made by hand.

Mixed condition but this is not a collector grade drum. It has several small extra holes in the shell from an internal mic or trigger system. The wrap is so visually loud that these extra holes are all but invisible. Replacement vent grommet. The wrap glue or maybe an inner wrap layer is visible in places but the seam is tight and the hardware keeps everything in place.

The tension rods were originally 5mm hex head and a few were missing. I replaced these, and the inserts, with standard 12-24 rods to make it playable. Original inserts and rods will be included with the drum. The hardware has general cosmetic wear, nothing too dramatic. Everything works and the strainer mechanism is quite solid and smooth.

This drum tunes up just fine but I was not able to get the wires dialed in very well. They are basically spring coils and haphazardly constructed but they do have fine tuners that function and with some care the drum could probably sound good.
