1933 The Great Chalice of Antioch HC -  Signed by Archaeologist Fahim Kouchakji 

This hardback book measures 13.75 x 10.25 inches. The cover has some staining, dinged corner and a couple of tears in the spine. The inside pages have significant foxing -- the inside pages a paper white.

What makes this copy of the book interesting is that it is signed by the publisher, Fahim Kouchakji.

Fahim Joseph Kouchakji was an art dealer, collector and archaeologist. He was well known for the discovery of the Antioch Chalice (archaeologist Dr. Gustav Eisen favored it as The Holy Grail) which now resides in the collection of the Cloisters in New York City.

Having arrived in New York City in 1919, naturalized in 1928, Kouchakji married the American journalist Evelyn Curtis, 1905-1980, in Washington, D.C., in 1930.

Works of fine and decorative arts from the Kouchakji collection sold via Sotheby’s, New York , on March 1, and June 1, 1978.
