Steamin' With The Miles Davis Quintet is one of the group's very many superb albums from the mid-50s onwards. Plenty of them have been reissued several times over including this one, but such is their enduring popularity that they always soon disappear from the shelves. The band was at its peak during the halcyon early days of jazz and is often said to be one of the best in jazz history. Alongside Davis on his trusty trumpet, John Coltrane was on tenor sax, with piano from Red Garland, Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on the sticks.
