A nice display piece from the BATTLE OF BRITAIN of 1940 being a section of crash relic from a BF 109 that was shot down on 31st August 1940,The 109 from 1./JG 77 was shot down by Spitfires over the Thames and the pilot bailed out becoming a POW. The BF 109 came down at Eltham and its pilot was the Staffel Captain, Oberleutnant Eckehard Priebe.

This is has been mounted long ago on an oak board measuring 40 cm (15 1/2 inches) with the relic 23 cm (9 inches). The finish is the original.
