PANAMA CANAL ZONE NAVY SWIFT BOAT OPS 1983

This DVD contains the original 16MM home movies that were filmed in 1983. Converted with an HD camera.

A lot of this was filmed on a Swift Boat underway, and also shots of the patrol boats filmed from the dock. Also, USS Spiegel Grove (LSD 32) is filmed in a river. -Very unique, never before seen footage-

Also filmed are some Army manuevers, and soldiers stopping cars and checking ID’s, etc.

I was impressed with how heavily armed those boats are. And I am pretty sure there is more than one type filmed. I was a helicopter rescue swimmer, flying off of carriers, so the brown water is pretty alien to me!!

This is a great look at a seldom seen aspect of the Navy; Swift Boats in the Panama Canal Zone.

About 17 min running time.

If you have 8mm or 16mm home movies, or VHS, BETA and Hi8 video of Naval Aviation, and can't afford to have the them properly converted to digital, contact me. I frequently convert the film and slides of fellow veterans free of charge.
